Willers Residence

Reflecting the architecture of the house - a contemporary derivitive of the practical agricultural setting - this design uses plants like crops: in rows and patches.  The paving (local crushed stone) and dark bark mulch are the unobtrusive medium in which the architecture - expressed in planting, walls and natural concrete - extends itself beyond the confines of its walls.  It is quiet, simple, peaceful, demanding nothing of us - waiting for people to provide sound and color.  It can be described as a design that gives instead of demanding something from us, and in this way it comforts us.
