Oak Hill Farm Event Barn

Imagine Sonoma was asked to transform an existing barn into an indoor - outdoor event space. Our solution reflects and accentuates the simple, agricultural character of the existing buildings, mature trees and surrounding fields. Spaces are defined simply with crushed stone, boulders, rows of trees, drifts of shrubs and stone walls. Two new summer parking areas were created by leveling areas among rows of plants then seeding with native grasses. The driveway side of the pond was cleared and planted with red maples, while the back of the pond - part of a riparian corridor - will be planted with dense cover plants. A future network of paths will connect this area to other parts of the farm through creek areas, orchards, fields of vegetables and woodland.
